Syriah Peters

Syriah will be attending Cornell University in their pre-med program with the goal of being a cardiothoracic surgeon. An A student, she was class Valedictorian, on the Principal's Honor Roll throughout high school, won Scholar Athlete Awards for three years, and won numerous Student of the Month Awards. She has also completed numerous Advanced Placement Courses, and attended the  Columbia University SPREP program. Syriah was active in student government, was a member of the School Leadership Team, was a team leader of Boys & Girls Cheerleaders, and active in a tutoring program for other students. She is part of the Aspen Challenge team at the school, identifying ways to deal with unhealthy relationships and develop healthy ones. She has also done extensive community work in the Bedford Stuyvesant/Brownsville area. Syriah is a motivated individual who draws strength from her family. She loves music, the arts, and sports.

Rasheed Jordan

Rasheed will be attending Notre Dame to pursue an electrical engineering degree. At Boys & Girls he was class Salutatorian, achieving a 4.2 GPA, was on the Principal Honor Roll for four years, was noted as a National African American Scholar, was inducted into the National Honor Society, and has taken numerous Advanced Placement Courses. Rasheed was captain of the track team, and participated on the volley ball and football teams. He was Student Body President and Junior Body President. He is a Shark Tank winner for InspiredMinds/NYC promoting urban planning and agricultural gardens in Bedford Stuyvesant and a leader in getting a garden implemented at Boys & Girls. Rasheed is success driven and his family and education are important to him.
